1 MM
The past 2 weeks, the wound clinic has told me that one of the wounds on my leg healed by 1 millimeter. I was curious to know what that converted to in inches. Well here is the answer. 1 millimeter = 0.0393701 inches. No wonder I don't see a huge difference. I guess 1 MM is better than none. I just hope it's not 1 mm per week, because it will take a lot longer to heal than I have patience for.

Father's day
Even though my dad passed away 9 years ago, he is still very close in my heart. My dad and I shared many things. We both love to work with our hands. He loved to paint and wallpaper and build things and I was right by his side. I learned a lot from him. We also shared a secret saying. When I was little, maybe 4 or 5, my dad started this game. At some point during the day he would whisper to me " I love you, I beat you." What the game was about, was to see who would say I love you first during the day. No one in the family knew what we were saying to each other, they just knew that we had something special. After I moved out on my own, we didn't play the game, but every once in a while, when we would be talking on the phone, one of us would remember to say it. My dad has been on my mind a lot lately. I know if he was still here, he would be taking care of me right now. I miss him.
I hope all father's had a wonderful day today.

Wound Care news
Went to my wound care appointment this morning and the wounds are a little smaller and not as deep, which is the most important. So 2 weeks in a row with an improvement. I don't have to go back for 2 weeks.

Sunday
This morning I went to breakfast with Lynnette and Marilyn. We went to a place called The American Diner. It's just a hole in the wall kind of place, but they have pretty good food. This afternoon I went to Michael's craft store to look at yarn. I really didn't need more yarn, but I just wanted to look. $77.00 later I have more yarn. While I was looking at the yarn and putting it my shopping cart a lady approached me and asked me what I did with all that yarn. I told her I make baby blankets and then donate them. She said " I do the same thing" So we chatted for a few minutes and she told me about her church in Milpitas and a group of women get together every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month to work on blankets. She invited me to go. I think I will go. I might not be able to stay the full 4 hours, it will just depend on how my legs feel, but it might be fun to do something like this.
