Bears and Blankets

In January 2005, I created a program with my friend Jennifer, called Bears and Blankets. The program was created from the 2 things that we enjoy. I love to knit blankets and Jennifer loves teddy bears. We decided to collect teddy bears and make blankets or get people to donate bears and blankets so we can then give them to children in need. Last year we donated some blankets to the Hurricane Katrina victims and we also donated to 2 local agencies. Last year we donated 55 bears and blankets. So far this year we have donated 110 bears and blankets. We teamed up with an organization in Romania and sent them 100 bears and blankets in April. We hope to be able to do another shipment to Romania in September. We are always looking for more places to donate to. We are always in need of teddy bears and blankets.
