BevMo Store

Went to the new BevMo store in Sunnyvale today and picked up a couple of bottles of Cabernet. It's a cool store with wine tasting every Saturday. Humm, guess where I'll be on Saturdays. The cost for wine tasting is .25 cents. Such a deal. Today they had 5 Zins, and 4 Chardonnays. Tried a few of the Zins and they were just ok. Here's what I bought. I'll let you know what I think of the wine. They also had some nice wine glasses.

What would life be like??

What would it be like if you could see yourself like others see you? Would you be happy with what you saw, or would it scare you to death? I wonder why is it so hard for us to believe in ourselves. What is keeping us from pursuing our dreams? Is it fear of failure, rejection, that we won't be the best. I think it's all of those things. If you haven't seen the movie, "What about Bob", then you have to see it and remember the words "baby steps". I think sometimes we get discouraged because it's taking too long for our dreams to come true. We live in a society where everything happens now. If you're an artist, let's say a guitar player, and you want to sell CD's,
the only way you'll sell 70,000 CDs is to first sell one. If the people you trust tell you you're good at something and to follow your dream, then do it. But use "baby steps". Whatever your dream is, you can achieve it with the love and support of those you trust.

Donations

Yesterday, Jennifer and her husband Jeff celebrated their 25th wedding anniversay by renewing their wedding vows. It was a wonderful day. They requested no gifts, however if guests wanted to make a donation to bears and blankets, that would be appreciated. We received 53 bears and 36 blankets, as well as cash donations of $225.00. Thank you all for your generosity.

Hummingbird

Took this picture this afternoon. Bought a new feeder with perch, so the hummingbirds can land. It took a few days for them to get the hang of it, but now I think they like it.

This was dinner tonight. It was very yummy!!

Well here it is. A Zachary's 1/2 baked stuffed pizza with sausage, onions and peppers. I wonder who would like something like this?? Well it's in the freezer and I'll be shipping it to New Jersey this week. I hope it arrives in 1 piece and that it tastes good. It sure smelled good on the ride home. Oh I did buy myself a small 1/2 baked with peppers and onions. You didn't expect me to drive all the way to Oakland and only buy 1 pizza....I'm going to have some for dinner tonight, with a glass of Sardon wine. Yumm................
Hey Victor, is your mouth watering yet????

New Coffee Table

Well, I put this together tonight. It doesn't look hard to put together, put if was a bit of a pain.
It's pretty cool, it has a leather top and 2 shelves that pull out, so I have a place to put my wine
glass. What more could I ask for.

Purple Power Flower Story

A friend a work was telling me a story today. She was playing a video game last night. The game has something to do with the Titanic. She said you have to find things in a room and when you find everything you get to move on to the next room. One of the rooms she saw a purple flower. She said to herself "How did a Purple Power Flower get in this game". Then she realized that she was just having a Purple Power Flower moment, and there really wasn't a Purple Power Flower in the game.

Or was there !!!

And I believed him. Ok, so he got me. So here's a picture of a hummingbird with feet. yada yada yada !!!! Whatever !!!!!!!!!!! I hate it when he's right !!!!!!!!!

A memory of my dad

Today I was talking with my friend Jennifer about family and I told her that my dad worked for 29 years in a textile mill making blankets. I visited my dad on a few occasions in that mill, and it was not the best working conditions. It was very noisy with all the looms operating and there were very few windows, so it was hot and stuffy. But what brought tears to my eyes today was remembering that my dad worked all those years making blankets. About 1 1/2 ago I started a program with my friend Jennifer called Bears and Blankets. We took our 2 passions, Jen's love of teddy bears, and my love for knitting blankets and we give them to children in need. Last year we donated 65 bears and blankets, and this year we have donated approx 130 so far. Realizing today that my dad spent all those years making blankets, and now I am giving blankets to children in need, was a wonderful feeling.

New Work Space

How would you like to work in this type of environment? Well my company has decided to take down the cubicle walls and give us this stupid desk. Basically once you put your computer, phone and maybe a calculator on the desk there's no room for anything else. No storage area to keep files, no place for a purse, if it rains, no place to hang your coat. Just wide open spaces so you can see everyone and everyone can see you. So if you're on the phone all day like I am talking to customers, it should be a joy to hear everyone's conversation around you. No one can believe that management is going to spend money to do this when they can't make any of their goals, not making a profit, and laying off people every 2 months. Corporate America is going downhill fast.
